Looking to purchase a Stihl new or used fuel tank part number 4226 350 0401 but, can't find one. What are people using as a substitute?

Your best bet is to start contacting all Stihl authorized service dealers in you area.and see if they have a used one in their used parts.

What is wrong with the one you have?

If she is a leaker, one can plastic weld her back up. Really very easy. Done several still holding fuel year round.

I hear you. I would "try" and weld it before abandoning it. You can reinforce the plastic with stainless window screen material or even brass. Makes a good repair. Really an easy job to repair a plastic tank.
