Were you ever able to figure out the cause? I have a 4 year old KM 94R with the same exact issue. It’s been back to the dealer 3 times so far under warranty but it always comes back with the same problem.
The original trimmer's engine had a problem with carbon buildup, which can cause all kinds of freaky performance. Here is a bulletin for what they came out with.
Thanks for this bulletin. The LOL is I’ve been using the Stihl oil in my two-cycle mix (bought it to get the extra warranty tacked on). So you’d think that their oil would be free of the “additives” that cause the fouling.
I’ll see if I can pick some up (along with a new spark plug) from my dealer & give it a shot.
