I have a scag cheetah that's about 5 years old. It has a Kawasaki FX850 engine with about 1100 hours.Over the last 2 months it has started starving for fuel. By that i mean the filter is empty. Both tanks can be full and it still happens. I have cleaned the carb, changed two fuel pumps, added and electric pump, blew out the fuel lines and replaced the fuel filter. It runs fine for about an hour then starts bogging down and sure enough the filter is empty. The only things i haven't touched are the 2 evaporitive canisters. I'm wondering if they could be bypassed. It's driving me crazy and with all the rain we've had here i can't keep the 12 acres that i take care of at work mowed. I hope someone may have an idea because if i have to send it to the dealer i won't get it back for a while.
And if that does not make a difference then blow back down the fuel lines into the tank.
Make sure the cap is loose or better still off and drop the pressure to around 20 psi.
Problem goes away for a while then you have debris plugging the outlet of the tank or hung up at the switch valve if you have multiple tanks.
