Hello,
I have a Husqvarna YTH23V48 riding mower. The Briggs and Stratton Intek V Twin engine number is model 445577 type 2187G5 code 111209YG. I just bought it and it had a surging problem. I replaced the carburetor, fuel filter, fuel pump, air filter, spark plugs, oil filter and oil. I have checked to be sure the fuel pump is working and I can hear the fuel solenoid click when it's plugged in. I'm not sure the choke is working properly. I've tried to close it manually but there is not very much travel so maybe it's not hooked up right. I did let the mower run for about 10 minutes before I shut it off. It restarted once immediately after but then would not fire up again. I know there is compression and spark. I know fuel is getting to the carburetor and the solenoid is working. The only thing I have not yet done is change the fuel in the tank.
Apart from the throttle linkage and choke I don't know what it could be. It was starting fine before I worked on it, although it was surging bad. The mower was also filthy. The carburetor had dirt caked on it. Now that it's clean and new parts it doesn't know how to act right.
Thanks for any help. A video of the linkage setting and adjustment would be nice but I can't find one for this engine.
