I have a 2016 XT1 Enduro Series LT 46 in. 22 HP V-Twin Kohler Hydrostatic Gas Front-Engine Riding Mower, the Starter on it is a
32-098-08, on club cadet website for my model it says 32-098-10 s, mine has a 9 tooth and the new one has 10 tooth.
They want $195.00 and Amazon has them for $44.00. I know about the 2 and 4 magnets and why they are cheaper, my question is will a 10 tooth work on my mower or can I just swap out the gear? and What is the difference between a 32-098-08 and 32-098-08 S
Thanks

Solved: As long as the starter numbers are the same on your starter with or without the -s it works fine with a 9 tooth or 10 tooth, it just means an upgrade or revision

That would only be true is the distance from the flywheel to the armature on the starter is further away on the 10 tooth than the 9 tooth .
Otherwise the gears will not mesh properly and some thing will wear very quickly,
