Briggs and Stratton starter gear not disengaging after engine starts

Firstly
Please do not piggy back on the thread that is 4 years old.
Secondly
Down the bottom left of your post you will see the word "delete" in green .
Please hit that on the other post in this section that was sent 2 minutes after this one.
Only you can delete it and double posting will not bring any more answers than a single post will.
Now to your problem
Does the starter continue to spin under it's own power ?
or
Does the starter pinion simply not retract after the engine has started ?
