stalling problems

Hi
I have a crafts man riding lawn mower and the belt broke
and I changed it now
when I start the mower it stutters and when I put it in gear
it stalls out
my model number is 917271061
please can some one help me

If you just replaced the belt, the first thing I would check is the belt routing. Make sure you don’t have it routed over the top of a belt guide instead of between the guides and pulleys.
