It is getting to be time to start my yard fertilizing and I am looking for a better fertilizer. I bought some cheap stuff last year and don't remember the name but someone suggested Scotts because it helps take care of crab grass. What would you suggest?

If it's just a fertilizer you are needing get the least expensive ...

if you are wanting other things, like a herbicide or anything else to be added , then you will have to add that yourself, or get the higher priced stuff package with it already in it ... :smile:KennyV

Fertilizing already? Man I just wishing it would stop snowing. We are suppose to get another 8 inches by Friday afternoon. What months would be best for Michiganders to start fertilizing their lawns?

I'll use Weed-n-Feed once spring hits. It does a great job on our dandelions and other broad leaf weeds, and leaves the grass looking great.

 Good one! The snow just won't stop. I guess it could be worse and we could have gotten all the snow that New York and the rest of the East Coast has gotten this year. The snow for us has been coming in small waves. An inch here, three there and then 8 1/2 back down to 1. Mother Nature needs to make up her mind and quick.

I use the Scotts with crabgrass preventer, so far it has worked well for me. I think you need to keep any pets off the yard until it has been watered in and dries though.
