Toro 30" Timemaster 223cc B&S 21199. Almost brand new with about 20 hours on it. Always starts on 2nd pull when cold. When hot, it takes 6-8 pulls and sometimes gives a puff of smoke when it starts. I checked the air filter - looks fine. I took out the plug, it had some black soot and was gapped correctly .02 and is correct plug Champ RC12YC. Here's the thing - when I took out the plug it took only abut 5 or 6 turns. When I put it back in I turned it about 12 turns and got it snug to the base. Now it starts real easy on the first pull. Apparently the factory never tightened the plug or it worked itself loose. Anyone else have this problem?

Sounds like improperly torqued spark plug.
