Confused about which spark plug for a 68540 is recommended by lawnboy. They seem to specify three different ones! Online, using that model, looking at the engine manual - they spec CJ-14. Online, using that model, looking at the operators manual they specify RJ-12C. And online, for that model, if you click the specifications tab - yes another spec RJ19LM.

What the #*$#&!

Buy all of them. Starting with the cheapest, try them all out, and pick the best one. I've always used cj14 without an issue.

In our shop we would install a Champion CJ14 for your mower.

For the extra two bills I took your advice and bought both the CJ14 and the NGK BPMR4A. I did not think to buy the NGK BM4A while I was at NAPA. Is that a better idea than the BPMR4A because it is not a resistor plug or are they the same thing?

I wish I could offer the technical advise on spark plugs. I use cj14 because lawn boy says to. My mowers run and cut grass so that's all I worry about. Not being crude. Glad I was able to help some.

udpate...

I emailed Lawnboy for support. They advised I use the plug mentioned in the owners manual.... RJ-12C with a 0.035" gap.

Thanks,
Paul
