I sold the last 40 bales of Pinestraw Friday. I had been holding on to them for jobs I might get. I decided to sell the rest of it and clean the shed out.

I could have sold a whole lot more if we had been able to get it up.

This winter was one of the wettest we have had in a long time and basically we could not get any up after Christmas.

I plan to be sitting on 1000 plus bales this time next year.

All over the south and not sure where else it is used as mulch. It holds color good and it stands rain and wind better than mulch.

Come up to Washington you can get more pine needles than you know what to do with :)

Pine straw beds look good when done right. Some guys just toss it down and leave. Best way is to dig a trench about 3 inches deep and tuck the straw in it with a flat shovel.
It's not fancy looking but it is cheap and with all the pine trees down here red or black mulch just gets covered with needles anyways.

Yea, I have just remembered that I have seen it in Florida. Looks good.

Dig a trench to edge the bed I guess?

We normally define the edge of the bed with an edger and then take a hoe and clean the bed on the inside of the edging. Afterwards we normally take a blower and fold it back to the defined place. It normally looks great.

I don't have any pictures. If I do another bed any time soon I will take a few and post some.
