Just picked up a powersmart db72024pa snowblower. It was used once. Apparently that's how many times it can be used without oil. Lol. So I tore it down and replaced the piston arm and back together. Now it wont start. Its getting gas and spark. It won't even try to start with carb cleaner sprayed in. What am I missing???
I even tried a new coil with no luck.

Just because you're getting spark externally, does not mean you're getting spark internally.
Internal combustion engines need only 3 things to operate:
Fuel
Compression
Ignition
If any of these is missing...engine will not run. Verify all.

Check for compression. Possible the cam timing got out of whack?

That's what I'm thinking, the camshaft needs to go back in time with crankshaft so you valves open at the correct times.
usually there are usually 2 dots you line up on the crankshaft and cam gears.

I've triple checked the dots are correct. I've adjusted valves many times in the past and never had one this picky. I either dont have enough compression or I'm backfiring now.
Teaspoon of gas in plug hole. Try to start, no choke.
Should run for short burst. If not, there is an ignition issue.
If does run for short burst and quits...indicates a fuel delivery issue.

I ask as nicely as I can... please dont patronize me. I rebuilt my first lawnmower nearly 40 years ago. I've set points. I've adjusted valves more times than I can count. Please read the entire post before you comment.
Everything is as good as new. Like I originally posted it was used once. I was grateful for no damage to the crank case. It was just used without oil. Having said that it did have a minimal amount from the factory. That was enough to break the piston arm that I replaced.

Odd, I punched in that DB model number and it didn't come up on their website
If I'm correct it has a Honda clone 212cc?
Your first post was patronizing with combustion 101. I didnt respond. Now you give me "teaspoon of gas" scenario. Again combustion 101. If you would have read my first post it CLEARLY states I sprayed carb cleaner.... "teaspoon of gas". YES you're patronizing. Please dont comment further.

does it have a low oil shutdown?
I would say the low oil shutdown switch might be malfunctioning, but since it was ran low on oil it probably doesn't have one... Have you tried running it with the kill wire unhooked? That would eliminate any ground issues causing intermittent spark possibly
there was another guy awhile back that when he pulled his spark plug out, and checked for spark, it sparked, but the engine wouldn't start, he unplugged the coil kill wire and it ran, but blew up! The low oil switch was preventing it from running.
I'll do some more thinking.....

Running on low oil, I'm wondering if a valve is stuck or sticking from overheat.
