Just picked up a powersmart db72024pa snowblower. It was used once. Apparently that's how many times it can be used without oil. Lol. So I tore it down and replaced the piston arm and back together. Now it wont start. Its getting gas and spark. It won't even try to start with carb cleaner sprayed in. What am I missing???
I even tried a new coil with no luck.

Just because you're getting spark externally, does not mean you're getting spark internally.
Internal combustion engines need only 3 things to operate:
Fuel
Compression
Ignition
If any of these is missing...engine will not run. Verify all.

Check for compression. Possible the cam timing got out of whack?

That's what I'm thinking, the camshaft needs to go back in time with crankshaft so you valves open at the correct times.
usually there are usually 2 dots you line up on the crankshaft and cam gears.

I will double check compression tomorrow. The crank and cam are lined up properly.

If you removed the camshaft and then reinstalled it correctly, you must also recheck and adjust the valve clearance.

I've triple checked the dots are correct. I've adjusted valves many times in the past and never had one this picky. I either dont have enough compression or I'm backfiring now.
