Snapper Weed Eater

Have older model Snapper Weed Eater that has set up for a few years. Took it down and put gas in it and it starts fine and runs fine up to about 3/4 throttle. Try to run it past that and it will die. I've cleaned the carb 3 times, and also cleaned the carb with carb cleaner. Same thing 3/4 throttle is it. There are no adjustment screws on this carb and a new one they want over $200 for it. I don't think so! If so I'll just use it at 3/4 throttle. Anyone have an idea I haven't tried or a way to fix?

Have you put a new fuel filter and new fuel lines on it ?
Old ones probably have gummed up a bit

Sounds like it's running lean. Some carbs have them hidden in the casing and you have to have special tools that you can purchase off amazon to turn them. Make sure there is no air leak on engine side of carb. Also try pushing to full choke when you go past 3/4 and see if it picks up any. If it does, then its starving for fuel and if it doesn't I'd say it's running too lean. Soak that carb overnight and blow compressed air through every single hole. About 20 - 40 psi should be plenty. Make sure fuel screen is clean and installed and if it has a removable jet, make sure its clean as the hole is tiny. And I always highly suggest replacing the gaskets, diaphragm, and fuel pump screen available in rebuild kits. Get a new spark plug while you're at it.

Oh and check fuel filter in tank and make sure lines aren't collapsing or hardened.

Got the carb sitting in carb cleaner all night tonight to see if that does it. To my knowledge, there are no adjustments on this carb. We'll give it a go tomorrow and see what happens.

Well we have absolutely no idea because you are playing secret squirrel and hiding the model numbers from us so we can not look it up.
To date you have received only generic information because that is the best we can do when we have no idea which one of the 17,842 different carbs that could have been fitted to the engine.
