I have a Snapper RE 100. Does anyone know how to disable or bypass the seat switch. My yard has a lot of obstacles and having to restart the mower 10 times because it dies when you get off is annoying!
There is a thread regarding this and the liabilities you can incur. My unwarranted advice is Don't do it. Its there for a reason. If it works, be happy.

Pull the plug off of the seat switch and take a piece if insulated copper wire, bend it in a U shape, and insert it into each "connector blade" (don't know how else to explain it) on the plug. One can also get spade terminals and crimp it onto the U shaped wire and push the spades into the plug. Then take some electrical tape and wrap the whole thing so it doesn't come apart.
LEGAL DISCLAIMER: I saw this on another website and are just passing the info along. I DO NOT do this myself.
When you put the parking brake on you should be able to get off the seat with the engine running.
If you can not do this then the brake switch needs to be fixed, not the seat switch needto be bypassed.
If the brake switch or the brake switch interlock is not workig properly then it will in time escalate till the mower will not start at all.
