mower wont drive wants to but wont , i can hold one wheel and spin the other in either direction " in nuetral ofcource " i can also spin one wheel forward and the other spins opposite just like any other differential , so this to me means the rear end gears and chain are ok , am i correct on this asessment ? also while it is upright i noticed the LH fender bearing is destroyed so the axle flops around . could this cause the mower to not drive when engaged :thumbdown:? thank you

If the wheels spin when they are in the air & you can change gears then the box is OK.
Have a cose look at the brake, you might even need to remove it completely.
Obviously you can not mow like this but at leas you will be able to get it into your shop and fix the broken / bent bits that were jambing the brake on.
