My snapper mower will only run if the gas is turned to almost "off" & then the oil is readily consumed. Does this indicate a valve problem? I have rebuilt the carb.

Please post all numbers from engine, engine manufacturer, snapper model and serial numbers, thanks.

I have a engine does the same thing. Will only run good if the gas shut off valve is 3/4 off

Snapper Model RLD12D331B, Engine is Brigg & Stratton 12 HP Model 281707-0222-01
I believe problem is with a loose throttle shaft. Can anyone tell me the proper way to change it?

Change fuel, oil, & air filters, spark plug, check spark arrester, etc.
