First, I’d like to know if my lawn mower is equipped with Briggs & Stratton engine. The cover says Thorx196 EVO1, and I can’t recover any brand on the engine. By the way, this mower worked properly until September: now it does not start anymore, and appears not be a battery problem: I can distinctly hear the electric starter running. It looks like there’s no connection between the starter cogwheel and the main engine shaft. I tried with a booster link to the battery, just in case, but it appears not to be an electric problem.
Do anybody faced the same trouble? Any solution?

Is it a Torx? That's what i find searching. I couldn't find a good manual for it, hopefully someone will.

If the starter is not turning the flywheel, it's often a problem with the gear that engages the flywheel. Normally, when you engage the starter, the gear moves into engagement with flywheel, turns it, and retracts after. The gear or mechanism can be damaged. I would remove the starter and examine the gear.

The ThorX 196 EVO1 is an overhead-valve (OHV) engine manufactured by MTD (often marketed under their "PowerMore" brand name in certain regions). It is an entirely different brand from Briggs & Stratton. MTD uses these proprietary ThorX engines to power their own lineups of outdoor equipment, including lawn mowers, compact riders, and tractors.

Need the mower's model from the serial number to try to find this engine.
