14hp ohv briggs and stratton . Plug has spark and getting fuel. Engine is slow to crank and will not start. Gauaged valves and still nothing. Turns good when plug is out.

Air Filter dirty? Post Model xxxxxx, Type xxxx, Trim xx, Code xxxxxxxx from engine.

Model 74301 toro

Jump directly from the battery - to a good ground near the engine
Engine cranks strong = bad grond cable / connection
Jump from the battery + to the + post on the starter
Engin cranks strong = bad power cables / connections
Engine cranks slow with both jumpers connected = bad starter or partially seized engine or heavy load on engine
Remove both belts and repeat the above
