Simplicity mower deck slows/stops when turning to the left.

I have a Simplicity 4212 Riding Lawn mower, 12 HP Briggs and Stratton engine and hydrostatic transmission with a 42 in. mower deck. When I turn or steer to the left the mower blades/spindles will slow and then stop. When i turn back to the right they begin spinning and it mows fine.

I'm mowing my lawn which is not overgrown and should be easy work for it. The safety switch on the seat, if there ever was one, has been by-passed. I can idle it down so its crawling along and watch the deck while letting the mower run in circles. I cant see any movement in the deck to indicate something is out of alignment.

This one has me stumped. :confused2:

WELCOME to LMF...

Your deck must be moving slightly to the right when you turn left, that is reducing the tension on the deck drive belt and allowing the blades to stop... check it out by trying to push the deck right & left with everything stopped.... :smile:KennyV
