I replaced the engine on a simplicty Consumer zero turn model 1694455 and the connector was cut. I have a Purple, orange and white wire. Obviously the engine is different. Does anyone have aschematic or tell me what goes where?

:welcome:

The white should go to the magneto , Verify this by checking it is open circuit to ground with the ignition on, brake on and pto off then gets continuity when the ignition is turned off.
It must never show any voltage.
On most simplicity mowers the purple goes to the fuel shut off solenoid and the orange goes to the alternator.
However the youngest Simplicity wiring diagram I have is 2005
If this is the case the Purple will be a light wire & the Orange will be a heavy wire

The purple wire is of heavier gauge so I assume the senecio should've switched?

It should not make any difference to the running of the mower.
If they both show 12V with the ignition turned on.
According to the wiring diagram I have they both end up connected to battery votage when the mower is turned on.
