The brand of seal really makes no difference, how it is installed makes a big difference. I suspect that when you installed the seal a year ago, you cut the seal. You must make sure that the shaft is extremely clean and smooth. One spot of corrosion can produce a tiny cut, which will cause the seal to fail. Clean the shaft and lube it with grease, so the seal will slide easily. When you set it, make sure the you stop when it is 1/16" below the housing rim.
