Seeking mower to cut rough weeds at height of 6 inches

I have several acres with lots of trees, down small limbs and rocks. Want to mow it and do not want to try with my Husqvarna that can only cut at a height of about 3 inches. What rider should I get, and or modify in order to do the job. Putting larger wheels might work, but the machine would have to accommodate the larger wheel and still be steerable. l

Trying to pull any cutter around through the trees and rocks is out of the question. Has to be something like a rider that I can control and steer.

IF it's that "bad" why not consider a land clearing ( debris-removal, brush-cutting etc) outfit for your INITIAL clean-up ??

The mower you want is a bush hog but they are not cheap.
Try a search with the words Rough Cut mower or Slasher.
If you can find one, a mower with a blade plate and swing back blades is your best bet if you are mowing over a lot of dropped branches.
There are some in the USA or at worst they will be available from Canada because we used to export them to Canada because the USA government decided they were too dangerous for idiot Americans to use .:confused2:
Apparently Canadians are a lot more intelligent.
I am not familiar with any USA mowers apart from the ones we get down here.
Bar blades tend to lift fallen wood and jamb it under the deck.
An out front mower will also do the job better.
For the first cut there are a few flail mowers ( sort of like a rotary hoe ) which bolt onto the front of a skid steer.
Down here the fencers love them as they will take down tress up to 10" diameter and leave a "street" of mulched up material to drive the post hole diggers over
The locally made one is called a Kanga Loader and we do sell them into the USA and they come with a flail mowing attachment.
You should be able to hire one or something similar over there.

Sounds like what you are asking for is beyond the scale of a simple riding mower, more along the lines of one of these:

I have similar issues, but added very rough terrain with washouts always happening. I went with a used jacobsen 4wd turfcat. Love the thing. New they are over 20k, but I picked this one up for less than 3k. 25hp kubota diesel, and the thickest deck I have ever seen.

I live in east Texas, a little over 2 hours north of Houston. I cut about 8 acres with it, the rest is pine plantation.

My farm is outside of Rusk, we might have to get together one day. I live outside Montgomery.
