Scotts Mower ... When did John Deere start manufacturing them?

Just picked up a Scotts Push Mower ( 22815X31A )
Searching for an Owners Manual and I see MURRAY info show up on Google, Did they manufacture Scotts Mowers?
I was thinking it was John Deere.

Anyone link me in the right direction for an owners manual?

Engine is a 6.0 hp Briggs & Stratton ( 12J882-3125-B1 Code: 00021658 )

I have been doing some more research online... the engine code ( 00021658 ) do the first 2 numbers mean that its a 2000 year engine?

I see that Murray had them before John Deere, just didn't know the year JD started manufacturing them.

Anyone?

I read that John deere started manufacturing scotts in 1999. and I thought the first 3 numbers was the production sequence.

Deere built the Scotts mowers starting in 99. Those numbers are off the motor, not the unit.
If it was a Deere built, the serial number tag on the unit will state "manufactured by John Deere" on it.
Murray and MTD build most of the ones before Deere got involved.

yes, the code numbers came off the Briggs & Stratton engine
after researching some, It looks like this mower was manuafactured by Murray.
as it doesn't have the "manufactured by John Deere" on it.
according to B&S the Engine code 00021658 is a February 16th 2000 built at plant 58
guess I will head back to the Murray Forum with this one.
