Just changed blades to new ones ..hear 2 of them periodically hitting each other..checked old blades I took off ..shows where 2 blades were hitting each other.
One spindle is wobbly ...would that make this happen?
Ordered spindle for it today..hope that cures problem.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thx:
Harold

I doubt it, but does your mower have timed blades? My old John Deere walk behind did. And every 30 hours I had to adjust the timing.

Scags don't have timed blades that I know of. A bent spindle shaft could cause the blade contact. Make sure that you have the correct blades.

Bent spindle
Bent deck where spindle bolts down
cracked deck where spindle bolts down
broken mounting bolts on spindle housing
Collapsed spindle bearings

Lay down beside your deck (mower turned off, key in your pocket) and spin the blades by hand noting all contact points. Maybe its not hitting another blade but some point on the underside of the deck.

Clay45 is right maybe the aren't hitting your blades. your deck could be bent.
