My other threads were starting to get cluttered up so starting a new one. I have narrowed down my list to a 12' Scag Tiger Cat with 61" deck and 600 hrs, a 13' Hustler X One with 60" deck and 620 hrs and a 12' Snapper Pro S200 with 61" deck and 75 hrs. All 3 have Kawasaki FX730 engine. All right at same price. What do you guys think? I like all 3. Only bonus factor is Scag and Hustler have suspension seats but the Snapper doesn't. I like the Turf Tiger mentioned in my other 2 posts, but with 1500 hrs I think one of the above 3 would be better choice.

You will get a different opinion from just about everyone who posts on this thread, but as someone who has used all three I can tell you that all three brands are quality mowers. I know you have tried hustler before and was not happy with the cut quality compared to scag. If you are most comfortable with scag and it is priced pretty close to the others, then I would suggest you go with the scag. I do really like the cut quality of the icd deck on the snapper pro mowers, but I like the cut quality of both the other brands you mentioned as well. You should go with the one that you like best of the 3.

The X One has newer style VX4 deck. I have a buddy who has one identical and he loves his. I'm torn, don't know which one to go with. I ran a brand new Snapper S200 at the dealer where the Hustler is at and it was real nice too. Logically the Snapper is probably best decision and add a suspension seat later. Thing I dislike about the Scag compared to the others is the stiffness of steering levers. Hustler is super easy to move, and the Snapper is halfway between the Hustler and Scag. I like the design simplicity of the Hustler. Whole lot more stuff in the way on the Snapper and Scag. The Snapper I ran at dealer had FX80 engine though, so slightly larger than the one I'm actually looking at used, but I doubt enough to nake any difference.

A co worker of mine has a hustler x one with the vx4 deck. His is the first x one I ever got on and it cuts great as well. I really liked operating it, and Its a very well built mower. However, it doesn't leave any nicer cut than my snapper pro. I am very happy with my mower. I have not used an s200xt with the fx730 engine. The s200xt my father owns has the 32hp big block vanguard. That engine seems unstoppable. If the snapper pro you are looking at was actually a 2013 model you would notice that they made it much easier to get to things, such as the top of the deck.

I'm going to go look at the Snapper tomorrow in person. Really need to make decision tomorrow as the Hustler and Scag are currently on hold for me......

Let us know what you decided on, why you chose the one you chose, and your first impressions.

Downside to the Hustler also is it will need new rear tires before too long.

I think I've about ruled out the Hustler; it's in the worst condition of the three. I'll probably end up with the Scag but the Snapper is pretty close; really like it. Went tonight and looked at the Scag and Snapper. I think the only downsides to the Snapper is no suspension seat and it's actually a 12' model so every panel is bolted on and hard to get to. I like how it handled the best though. Tomorrow is going to be tough making this decision. I believe the Snapper is actually wider, so should hold hills better.

Ruled out the Hustler, called dealer and had them take my name off it. Still can't decide between the Scag and Snapper though.
