Hey, just took delivery of my new Scag 52" V-ride and after looking it over noticed ticking sound coming from the tank. Turns out the fuel gage is loose. I tried to turn/twist it in but nothing changes. I can actually pull it out of the tank that's how loose it is. The ticking noise coming from the float hitting against the rods it is attached to.
anyway, just called the dealer and they said they will replace the fuel gage and the grommets securing it.

I'm glad your dealer said they are going to fix it! We would love to see pictures of your mower!

You'll love your V-ride. My son and I got a 52 inch V-Ride last spring and used it all summer. It comes in handy for getting in places where a zero turn is too large or too heavy. It has plenty of power, too.

We had to replace the grommet where the fuel line comes out of the gas tank. It was an old style black one. The new one was the reddish looking one - not as brittle as the black one.

just wanted to update. The dealer provided replacement gage and gasket (which was the failure) w/o any issues.

I have been mowing for the last 3-4 weeks. The machine is marvelous - saves time and does great job. It is a bit overkill for my 1 acre minus house and driveway but who cares - the job done quick with quality and I am not tired after mowing.
