I have a SCAG Turf Tiger SST61-22ka
It has the Kawasaki motor
Mower is not getting any spark. Just changed the two coils. And still no spark. Every once in a while the mower will start but then will shut off. Carburetor is getting fuel fuel pump is working. Not sure what else to check for. Is there an oil sensor where it does not fire if it has old dirty oil. Is there any other electrical boxes to check.
Did you use OEM Kawasaki coils & set air gap to .010, a business card works just fine between coils & flywheel. If oil is dirty change oil & filter & check air filter for replacement. Did you use a Spark Tester, if not get one & try it out. With engine cold adjust valves to specs. in your Operators Manual. Let us know how it goes, thanks, Mark
1) go to the Kawakasi web page and download the service manual
2) take the blower housing off & remove the kill wires from the coils .
If the engine runs fine then you have an electrical problem with the mower
If still no joy put a small ( 1/4 teaspoon , no more ) amount of fuel down the plug hole
The engine should run a second or so till the fuel burns off
If this happens then you have a fuel problem and the first suspect is the carb solenoid .
Do these test & get back to us as I have no intention of writing a 10,000 word engine testing manual in this ( or any other ) post
