Scag Turf Tiger Hour new meter adjustment

I’ve recently replaced the hour meter on my Scag Turf Tiger model STT61V-29DFI-SS. It was replaced with the original style hour meter that does not involve wrapping a wire around the coil wire. You basically remove the old and plug in the new. Now for my question. Is there a way to “update” the new hour meter to reflect the old hours to make the reading accurate? In other words, how do I add hours to the new hour meter to make it read accurately? Thanks

Turn on key without starting, look and see if meter is running if so just let it go till you get to old meters time, that is what it I've done on my gravely.
If it's a lot of time be sure and hook up charger while you do it, otherwise I have no idea how to manually change time.
