Scag tries to start in " on position ".

My 2008 Scag Tiger Cat tries to start in the "on position ".

When you turn the key to start position it does nothing.

I have 12.7 volts.

I have checked a replaced all fuses.

I have installed a new key switch.

I have replaced the starter and starter solenoid.

I have replaced the relay switch with diode.

Any ideas on what is going on?
 
Does it have a "tiger Eye" module ?
Sounds very much like what happens when they go south .
 
Hope you kept all the old parts that were removed.
 
if its a kohler engine there is a diode in the engine wire harness that goes that will cause this when it shorts

Yes,it is a Kohler 25 Hp Command Pro.

Is it possible that diode is in the wire that goes to the starter solenoid?
 
the diode is about 2 inch up from connector on engine side. on scag there is no power to ign and carb solenoid with key in crank position so they feed power off starter through the diode, when it shorts it feeds power back to starter in on position. need to cut heat shrink coating back
