You don't give us much info to help you. Brand and model of unit??? By blade bar, do you mean cutting blade? You say the spindle bearings are bad, have you checked the spindle shaft? It may be bad also. Don't know your mechanical ability, I would probably remove the deck, because it would be much easier for me that way. Guess we have more questions than answers.

Trying to find your snapper to get some numbers, so I can help you. I cannot find any with a triangle handle bar. Found them with round, square and bicycle style. Are there any numbers on the engine, that I could cross check from.

Might have gotten lucky. Looks like you may have a Series 00 Comet. They came with either 5HP or 8HP engines and 26" or 30" deck. Will you try to find engine numbers for me?

The blade bar is threaded on with a right hand thread. Righty tighty, lefty loosey. Stand the mower on its tail, find some way to prevent the spindle shaft from turning with the blade bar sitting level and hit the left side of the blade bar with a big hammer to loosen and remove the blade bar.

If you take your time, you should be able to do it. A suggestion, go to the Jacks small engine website, under Snapper, series 00, you should be able to find a breakdown of your unit. You can blow it up and print it out. Might help.

Quick update,Iwas able to get snapper up on end from my wheelchair and that bout kicked my old butt but its done,Small problem i,m havin now is top nut on shaft .Removed blade and blade bar and was able to get bearing from bottom with no problems.Wasnt able to get my impact on bolt on top because it has 3 in . shaft on impact and my impact sockets are 3in long also.If i was able to stand up and manhandle deck a bit i might could swing deck enough use it ,so any ways i soaked it with liquid wrench and i,ll try tommorrow agan. While it was up i serviced as much as i could till i get finished with bearings and put new boots on it.When i get a little froggy feeling tomorrow i,ll try again on top bolt and if that dont work recon i,ll have to remove deck from unit to finish. Thanks again!
