Safety switch problems

Hi all. I have a ferris is2000z with a 25 horse Kawasaki engine I'm working on. It will start but as soon as I release the brake it will shut off. I jumped all safety switches which allowed me to start it, release brake and move it but as soon as I engaged the blades it would quit. The blades start to turn momentarily so I don't think it's the pto switch. I installed a new brake switch and a new seat switch after advice from a tech. Now it starts but when I release brake it quits. Any help would be appreciated. TIA.
 
Google search your units model number (off the ID tag) wiring diagram and you should come up with a diagram to help you troubleshoot the issue. This is what all experienced techs do when trying to solve electrical problems. Only amateurs throw parts at it when they don’t know how to troubleshoot.
 
I was advised to do that. If a broken wire rubbing somewhere is common I thought the answer would be here. Signed amateur
 
Dealing with a similar if not the same issue. I locked the brake switch (depressed) with zipties and small piece of wood. Now, the mower can move but dies immediately if the pto switch is engaged. That is how far i am. Replaced the PTO switch last year and decided that the original was good. Checked the timedelay relay (not sure why there is a need for this $100.00 part). Tomorrow, go at it again.

Right now, the seat switch is unhooked, both control arm switches are depressed with zipties and the brake switch is held depressed.
 
Bootheal, it's best to start your own thread, it's less confusing. We'll need your mower and engine ID, so people can look up wiring diagrams etc.

However, on some machines, if you lock the brake switch in the brake applied setting(so it starts) it kills the motor if you engage PTO, since you don't mow when stopped. There's a lot of reasons NOT to be disabling all the safety systems. It's not that hard to get along with them.
