I have a 2011 model RZT42 and the left side transmission is slipping. Are these rebuildable, or will I have to buy another transmission? Also, what model transmission does the RZT42 use? Thanks!

We would need at the least model number starting with 17 to look-up the mower. Plus on the transaxle axle housing should it model number. It either has Hydro Gear or Tuff Torq hydrostatic transaxle. Might be able to cross the Cub Cadet part to model number if it is a Hydro Gear unit.
Both hare rebuildable but you need to know the exact model number of the transaxle to order parts.

It also could be simple the drive belt idler arm frozen up allowing the LH side belt to slip.
The problem is the left side bel does not grip the pulley properly because it is on the slack side of the run.
Toro recognized this a long while ago and changed the belt routing so the left belt has a 2/3 wrap around .
Husqvarna does not give a toss & wants you to buy a new mower

Bert when did Husqvarna start making MTD/Cub Cadet mowers?
But even with mostly wrapped pulley if it is loose it going to slip.
Trouble with the 954-04043b was it was a 57.7 belt and was too long. It would let the idler pulley hit the belt guard on the engine pulley and cause the belt to slip. If you would get a good quality 57 inch kevlar belt it would correct that issue.

I know it’s been a while since I started this thread, but I finally got around to installing the 57” belt. Mower now works like new and cuts great. I’ve been using a 42” tractor type mower lately and forgot how much faster the zero turn cuts! Thanks again for the help!
