RS-800 Adjustments

I have a Craftsman 917.203900 After replacing the RS-800 P Variation kit, all seems OK except....
When I press the Reverse, it does reverse very slowly, it I hook my heal on the Go lever and pull it up (Which is similar the pressing reverse harder/more) it reverses ok.
It seems like there is an adjustment on that lever (From the pedal to the transmission) that needs to be adjusted.
Is there any adjustment?

Yes, but you need a service manual to give you the proper procedure. The adjustment is under the operator floor, and the deck has to be removed with the front end then lifted up in the air.
 
Thank you for the response. I do have a copy of the Service Manual that was downloaded from GT. (39008-D, Apr 2019) Is the adjustment you are referring to called the Inversion Rod?
On page 19 it only mentions to have the length to 2.5 +-0.01 Inches. I'm assuming also to make sure the lever is centered showing the two springs are equal in tension.
The manual is confusing to me, it seems to be a group of procedures of kits you can install.

As I recall on many models, there was an adjustable tie rod pin that had to have a clip removed and then it could be turned to adjust up or down the threaded rod until the bell crank adjustment was within specification.
 
I was able to tighten the nut on the inversion rod a few turns and it was better, so I tightened it a total of about 1/8" shorter and it does work a lot better. Not as well as I think it should, but well enough until I can remove the deck again.
Is that the primary fix for a weak reverse on a RS-800P ?
