I’ve got a Husqvarna YTH2454 that I recently purchased with a 24hp INTEK that’s bad. I found a 25hp commercial series on eBay that I would like to replace it with as I like the cyclonic filter and it’s cheaper than the INTEK. Curious as to if it’s a direct replacement. Engine code on mine is 445677 0476 E1. On the commercial series it’s 44T977-0015.

Export threadBriggs a direct replacement is 44Q777-3136-G5 which my distributor supercedes to a 44S977-0033-G1 If the ebay engine crankshaft length and diameter is the same as your old engine that is the main thing. Can't confirm but is looks like the 44t977-0015 may have an inch crankshaft whereas your engine has a 1-1/8 crankshaft

Mufflers are generally a tractor part, not a mower part.
Rule of thumb,
If the muffler sits on the side and blows out the side like a push mower muffler, it is an engine part.
If it is underneath or in front of the mower it is a mower part.
Most of the actual boxes are the same it is the header pipes that are different.
And they can be cut & welded.
