Replaced pto cub cadet 1024

I replaced the electric pto clutch on my cub cadet 1024 mower, the old clutch melted. I started the engine engaged the pto and the blades started turning right away. I mowed two hours without a problem, parked the mower my basement. A week later mowing time, i pulled the mower out of my basement started the engine engaged the pto nothing! the blades would not turn. I pushed the pto switch on and off several times still nothing, turned the engine off, turned the switch back on and pulled the pto switch on i could hear it click. So i am not sure what to check first, could the new pto be faulty, or not getting enought volts to engage the pto? any suggestions thanks CH

WELCOME to these Forums...
Measure the voltage at the clutch... You Need full voltage, any loss of voltage will cause problems...
Also check the ground path, it must be tight & clean... :smile:KennyV

Some of them have relays look to see where the click is coming from, and also check the connection of the PTO, and any fuse.

Hi Kenny, took me a few days to get back to my mower, i used my daughters mower to cut my grass. I checked the voltage to plug at pto, turns out i had a bad connection on mower side plug. After i repaired the bad connection i started the engine engaged the pto and checked the voltage at the pto plug and was getting about 12.70 volts, is that about right or should the volts be a little higher?
