Regulator Rectifier Purple Wire Issue

Hello all,

I am having an issue with my lawn mower.
I put a new put in an new battery in and within 2 weeks the battery was dead so i looked into it a little more.
I replaced the Regulator Rectifier and looks like my purple wire was chewed and missing a bunch of wire.
My issue is i do not know where this wire should go.
Can i Splice this wire back together or run new wire?
Where does this purple wire go to?
I looked all over and could not find the other end of this wire.
I took the battery out and looked at the starter solenoid and didn't see any wires missing or hanging.

You should be able to splice it just needs to be 14 ga. IT goes to the ignition switch and the 20 amp fuse.
