The regulator is combined with the rectifier into a single unit, which is typically housed in a 1 x 1 x 1/2" (approximately) aluminum block. Typically, these are mounted to the side of the engine or very close by. Follow the wires coming out of the alternator, and it will be the first item in-line with the wiring.
