Is the rectifier my problem? I measure 32v AC from stator and 18v DC from rectifier/regulator. I have wired directly back to battery with 20 amp in-line fuse that blows.
Not sure because we don’t know what engine and charging system you are talking about. Please post all engine numbers, along with the problems you are experiencing so we can better help you.
Thanks for the manuals Rivets, I will see if they help. The thing is I have ripped all the old wiring out because of too many safety switches, relays etc. I’ve wired a push button switch to crank the engine and put toggle switches on fuel solenoid and coil ground.
Thanks for your input StarTech.
So what should the maximum DC current out of regulator be? I think 15? How many amps?
It is okay to direct wire to battery positive from the regulator with an in-line Fuse?
I’m going to check the resistance of stator as per manual but I think it is okay since it puts out 32 VAC. I will order a new regulator. As per the manual wiring diagram, I think I’m okay to wire directly back to the battery rather than key switch but may put a toggle switch in for an off position. What do y’all think?
