Hello,
I'm new here and have a question. I have an opportunity to purchase a 2013 Cub Cadet LTX 1042 Kawasaki with 80 hours on it. It has been perfectly maintained. It cost $2,000.00 new. What is a fair resale price. I appreciate your help.

Is there transferable warranty? I realize most warranties aren't worth the paper written on but that can be a price negotiating point.

The only other information that may or may not be useful to you is what I was offered as a trade in by the JD dealer where my LA-135LE with 195 well maintained hours was purchased. Offer was $450.00 and I estimated they would turn it for about a 500 - 700 dollar profit.

Thanks for the reply. Cub only gives a three year warranty, so nothing is left. I'm thinking a fair price would be in the $1,000 to $1,200 range.

If its from an individual it is $400 to $600 too high. I would say $600 to $800

Seeing you are the person buying the mower bid low because you can always go up on price. The 1042 Cub is a MTD and on the lower price range.

I didn't suppose any MTD in that price range had Kaw engines. Good to know. thanks

A new Cub XT2 LX 42 Lists at $2,300 with a 18hp Kaw engine. This is supposedly a limited edition model. Grab handles and some other bells and whistles are included. That's why I asked the value on a 2013 model with 80 hrs. The person is a friend and takes meticulous care of the mower, including waxing it after every use. The $600 to $800 sounds good. Just checking to see if under these circumstances the mower might be worth more. Thanks everyone for your feedback.

In all honesty it is worth what you are willing to pay for it. If you think that is what it is worth then buy it. We just look up prices and let you know our opinion. Trust me I have paid more than what a mower was worth so I could have it.
