Repairs Re-Powering an old Toro Walk behind mower

I own a 1984 Toro 21 inch Self propelled Rear Bagger Mower Model 20672(bought it new) ...It has Toro's Blade Brake Clutch feature and is powered by a Tecumseh TNT100-10083 engine.. I had a new shortblock put in it about 8 years ago...and now this engine is using oil, low on compression and lacks power.......I dont want to put anything more in this engine... and was thinking of "re-powering"......anyone ever "re-power" this particular model?? as the Deck, drive and everthing else is still working fine..

First off, :welcome: to the forum. If you have a few tools and a little skill, I say go for it, you can get all the help you need right here. The parts to freshen it up can't be that high, if the short block lasted that long a repower will last quite a while. :thumbsup:
