RAMPS

Anyone have any advice on using ramps to load a riding mower into the bed of a pickup truck? I've never done this, and it looks to me like a guy could get into some difficulty if things didn't go right.

Get a set of bi-fold quad boss with the strap kit, I have a set made here in the USA I use to load my Rubicon or 300 and they would work just fine for a riding mower.

Buy a trailer... Harbor freight has some cheap ones its safer than loading into a truck

I agree , loading a riding mower into a pickup is not the safest practice..I only paid 544 for my 5x8 trailer at TSC. ..it's only.10.00 a yr to register and it holds 1500lbs. .

If you watch a few videos, which most are real stupid, you'll see that a ramp kicks out at a certain point in the loading procedure. See if you can catch at which point this happens. And I've never seen both ramps kick out simultaneously. Loading rear first never a problem except the deck hanging on some ramps if the angle is too great.

If you use ramps have someone stand at the bottom with their feet on the ramp holding them in place. When the front wheels leave the ramp into the truck bed the back tires kick the ramps out.

I would just push it up the ramps.

You could just find a used 4x8 trailer for around $200.
Heck man if you was close to me I would give you one just do you don't get hurt.

I've loaded a riding mower into my truck twice using ramps. To make it worse it was the JD spin steer zero turn tractor. It was after my second time that I decided to buy a trailer ;) Seriously... it's dangerous. If you absolutely have to do it (I did) then use ramps like Nwatson99 that use straps to attach to the tailgate.

Hmmmmmm....it wouldn't be a bad drive from TN to GA to pick up a free trailer if you're giving them away:0)

Yeah I do, I was just giving you a hard time. Like my wife does about me buying it(I've only used it about 3 times in 2 years:0)
But a trailer is nice to have and has many uses other than transporting lawn equipment....like hauling off all the junk when I finally get around to cleaning out my garage/workshop(cringe:0)
