Hello, i have a racing mower with a 1999 Briggs 460cc (13Hp Stock) Engine, has a Homemade Exhaust and Mikuni carburetor on it. I am experiencing an "issue" where when cranking the engine, whilst opening the throttle or while the engine is running to a stop (after killing spark) it appears to blow back out of the intake/filter. It sometimes squirts a small amount of fuel out of the carb too. I have read that the decompression valve on a lot of briggs uses the intake, would this be correct for this engine (if it even has a compression release...) i would of thought it would use the exhaust?
It runs great, however i am just wondering if anyone knows why this is happening, any information appreciated...

Also, while we're here, ;), i have heard it is recommended to fill the transaxle with gear oil on a racing mower, could you give me some advice on that please, also is there anything else that should be done to the transaxle to prevent it from blowing up at high RPM's...

Thinks in Advance...
