Hi, first time on forum, has anyone seen push rods on OHV engines hitting the guides and banging up the sides of the push rods just below the rockers.
this is on a 11.5 hp snow king.
Any clue why they would do this, was prepared to find a con rod problem based on the noise this was making, not sure that there is not still one lurking below but was hoping it was something simple.
Pushrods jumping off is fairly common.
Usually it will be because no one has bothered to check or adjust them so they get that slack, they simply fall off.
Next is the overheating / freezing problems of the valve being stuck solid in the guide while the rocker is getting pushed by the pushrod which will either bend or flex and again pop off.
Very important to give snow equipment time to warm up SLOWLY.
