Purpose of these bars?

Now that I think of it I guess most of them are in the rear aren't they. Yeah I looked closer at mine amd there is a slot where they mount on the front crossmember so they can be slid forward or back slightly. That settles that. Thanks guys.

Hey guys. Been wondering what purpose these bars serve that run from front crossmember down to the mower deck. All chain hung decks i've seen are only hung by the chains, but mine has these bars as well. They seem to me to keep the deck from floating with the terrain on uneven terrain. I'm assuming they add extra support but could it be that much?? ......

This came up in a thread elsewhere... yours are different somewhat but by the light
fabrication I can see they would only be centering (location) guides.
Deck would 'wander' on chains without them.
