I just purchased a Honda mower. I folded in the handle for storage, now I can't unfold the handle due to the pull card holding it up.
Any help appreciated.

pull some cord out of the starter like you was starting it or disconnect the rope from the handle

Yeah that is what I would do. The rope might look like it is stuck where it is, but if you kind of wiggle it out of the hook it will come out.

Does this mower have the squeeze handle with the push handle. If so squeeze it and it should pull out like normal from the engine without having to pull it out of the holder.

When unfolding the handlebars, squeeze and hold the blade control lever, which will release the flywheel brake, allowing the recoil starter rope to unwind easily and the handlebars to fully unfold.

While we are kind of on the subject.....which lever if you press it in while the engine is off will it make the engine smoke at start up....the blade engagement or the drive lever?

Neither the blade or drive lever will cause the engine to smoke. Generally, smoke is due to a bit of oil in the cylinder. A puff or two is no big deal. If it continues to smoke a lot after getting warmed up, that could mean problems internally with the engine. Either a crack in the block, worn cylinder walls or ring, etc.

OK thanks for the info!

So pushing in either lever when the mower is off is fine, and won't cause any issues?? For some reason I had the thought that you shouldn't push them in.

No you are fine to push them in while engine is off. But note if you push the drive bar in it will be hard to push while the engine is not running.
