Clutch installation simple except instruction sheet mentions throw away rear engine mount bolt and replace with the one in the kit , The problem here is the new lever which holds the clutch from spinning is thicker than the original wire one and the new bolt is shorter . When you proceed to torque the bolt to 40 ft. lbs. the bolt will begin to fail at approx 32 ft. lbs. because it is a half inch shorter than the original bolt and it does not get deep enough into the threads to take hold . I suspected this when installing and watched the dial on the torque wrench like a hawk then stopped in time to save the threads on the engine . I installed the original bolt and torqued to 40 ft. lbs. No problem with the new bolt for the clutch itself . The Kit is an upgrade so you remove the clutch and spacer and pulley plus keys to install the new design .This is also not really clear in the instructions , Briggs really needs to rewrite the sheet ! all in all 15 minute job . Done Deal works great no more hot wires , a lot quieter too ! Thanks to all who helped !
