I have a 2003 L130 with 175hrs with the Kohler Command Engine.
I was mowing my very long grass today (just over an acre) and I was nearing completion when my mower started to die on me.
Almost asking like it was running out of gas. So I shut her down not long after noticing this stalling. I went to fill it up and I noticed some gas still in the tank.
So filled it up and when I turned the ignition all I hear was a click under the hood and nothing.
I tried this a few more times and still just a single click and nothing more, whisper quite.
My battery reads good, oil is fine also. Im at a loss as to what to trouble shoot now? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Run a jumper from the battery - to a good ground near the starter motor, the oil drain plug is good if you have a std plug.
Engine cranks & starts = bad ground connection
Run another one from the battery + to the + terminal on the starter motor
You should get a big fat spark so be ready for it
Starter cranks & engine runs = bad power connection
Thanks for your response! I decided to mess around with my pull switch that engages my mower blades. It was pushed down that is correct for starting. However since the mower died before I pushed the disengage it never registered. My mower did run out of gas since I was not on level ground and it was low. So I was able to turn the key to accessory, engage the blades and then disengage the blades and then start it back up. I feel dumb... but hey at least I don't need to order any parts!
