Pro Z 100 safety features

I have a Pro Z 154S, and I'd like to find out what safety features it's supposed to have, and whether I have them all working now. It's a commercial unit, and I bought it used. I'm guessing the lawn company that owned didn't want to be bothered with all the safety features. However, my wife is the primary user now, and I want them all to work. I found out that the brake safety switch (aka interlock switch) had been bypassed. I cleaned up the contacts on the switch and connector, and it's working now. The seat switch works, too. If the PTO is engaged, and you get off the seat, it shuts off. The one thing I'm questioning is, with PTO off, brake not applied, if I get off the seat, it doesn't shut off. Should it? I have a residential ZTR. A Husqvarna CZ4817. On this one, if you get off the seat without setting the brake, the engine will shut off, regardless of the PTO.

I found this in the operator's manual:

"The engine will automatically shut off if the operator leaves the seat before engaging the parking brake."

Mine doesn't do this, so a previous owner disabled this feature. I know that many would prefer it to operate this way, but since my wife uses it now, I want this feature. I'm going to replace the wiring harness. The existing one has been repaired a number of times already. A new harness would be a good idea. And it's cheaper than I expected. I don't remember exactly, but it was <$200.
