LESSON LEARNED.....DON'T ASSUME.

I have owned several Broadmoors over the years, beginning with a 728 that I bought new and still own. So, this is a new to me Prestige with 37 hours. Regarding the deck height, I was focusing my efforts on the rollers and electric deck lift. I ASSUMED that the deck was set up properly front-to-back. I was WRONG. When I finally checked it, I learned that the front tip of the middle blade was actually over 1" LOWER than the rear tips of the side blades. When I set it up correctly with the front tip of the middle blade .25" higher that the rear tips of the side blades, I was able to achieve the cutting height that I was looking for. I made a mistake by thinking that the PO had the deck set up properly. Thank you to all!!!

P.S. I'm one of the ones that understands how Simplicity decks work!!

My sons & I own & maintain our 3 Conquest & 1 Broadmore Simplicity tractors with B&S Vanguard engines. Good to hear you figured it out.

I have an electric lift Broadmoor and a manual lift Conquest, they both have cut height indicator which goes to 4". However the lift mechanisms on both also tend to bind up due to crud building up under the semi-round keepers which hold the acutator pole to the top of the deck. So I regularly spray the whole thing down with graphite, as it collects less dirt than grease, and every other year I remove the whole roller assembly and give it a good cleaning.
